Infrastructure Analysis and Inventory Generation


This Service is the first step of any Monitoring project.

The main objective of this phase is to correctly identify all the physical and logical elements that compose the infrastructure. These include:

  • Logical and physical Instances

  • Services

  • Service Level Agreement (SLA)

  • Platform Users

  • Security Profiles

  • Notifications definition

During this first step there will be some interviews in order to know the technological environment of the client and an analysis of requisites trough the study of the existing documentation related to services, applications and systems.

In addition, there will be some Practical Sessions in charge of the client to complete the training of the working team in the implanted procedures. The first goal, after acquire enough knowledge, is to count with inventories of each of the elements to monitor.


Tool Implantation


The main objective of this Service is the correct Implantation of the tool. This means to accomplish the requisites of Robustness, Hardware Economy and ideal Performance.

This service includes the implantation of Osmius as a solution for networking, client services, systems, applications and network devices monitoring and management and the Report module as well.

Next tasks will be done during this Service:

  • Osmius Installation.

  • Customize Osmius to adapt to the client needs.

  • Osmius tests.

  • Installation Documentation generation.

 

Tool Deployment and Agents Deployment


The main objective of this Service is the correct deployment of the Osmius Architecture trough the installation of the Master Agents and Agents in the servers.

Result must be the correct installation and communication of the different modules that conforms the infrastructure doing some task like:

  • Load all the services, servers and network devices that are going to be monitored.

  • Establish the mechanisms that will check periodically the states of that modules (Master Agents, Agents..)

  • Load all the applications (software) that are going to be monitored.

 

Configuration and Integration with Third Party Software


One of the most interesting features of Osmius is its versatility to be integrated with client Third Party Software (ticketing, incidences, change management...) helping to have the minimum impact in his business processes.

The main objective of this Service is the correct integration between the different systems and the configuration of its interfaces.

At present, Osmius counts with integrations with privative Third Party Software (HP OpenView, Remedy, SAP, Microsoft...) or Open Source (FootPrints,...).

In addition, there will be a complete configuration of the tool doing tasks like:

  • Setup of alarms that will trigger e-mail and SMSs to the working team in case of malfunction in any monitored element.

  • Notifications configuration.

  • Configuration and geotagging of Instances and Services in the GIS module.

  • Users configuration and Profile Security.

  • Creation of test client.

  • Dashboard setup.

  • Reports and planning automation.

 

Operation and Maintenance


Once the tool is completly operative we will procede to its operation. In order to do this, there are some functions that the client staff will realize:

  • Maintenance: it is considered the maintenance of the implantated systems, that will be accomplished trough on site support at the client's facilities.

  • Remote Support: monitoring will be complemented with a remote 24x7 support that will conform the Service Level Agreements (SLA) agreed by the systems users.

Peoplewarewill provide a third level 24x7 support. This support will be done on site by Peopleware staff.

Operation Service components:

  • Maintenance: there will be a corrective and evolutive maintenance of the objective platforms in charge of the Peopleware technicians.
  • On Site Service Support: installation on site support.
  • Remote Service Support: as an extension of the on site Support, the last component of this Service is a remote Support where Poeplewre technicians will be reported trough Web support and e-mails that they will receive from mobile devices and/or laptops. The schedule will be 24x7
